A Civil Engineer is a certified professional who designs and maintains design plans for private and public systems including roads, utilities, dams, canals, and water supply and sewage treatment.

A Structural Engineer is a certified professional who designs the framework of buildings, bridges, towers, or any man-made structure.

Both disciplines require hefty amounts of research, planning, calculations, and coordination. Depending on what the project is, you might need both types of engineers to complete your plan design.
